Yeshiva of Flatbush (YoF) and Prizmah are partnering to innovate the way teachers learn from professional development. YoF will send their own teachers out “in the field,” visiting other Jewish day schools in the tri-state area. During the first two weeks of February, groups of 6 - 8 YoF teachers from each grade (pre-school through 5th) will visit 10 different day schools to learn about the new and unique things they are doing in the classroom, as well as for their professional learning, and will return inspired to make positive change in their own school. The teams will tour the schools, observe classes, engage with the administration, and have the opportunity to share successes and challenges with one another. We’re greatly appreciative of the hosting schools for opening their doors. To date, Beit Rabban Day School, Hebrew Academy-Nassau County (HANC), Hebrew Academy of Long Beach (HALB), Manhattan Day School, North Shore Day School, Ramaz School, SAR, and Yeshiva Har Torah are opening their doors for the Yeshiva of Flatbush teachers as they embark on this professional development journey. Rabbi David Saltzman had a dream for educational innovation, and now YoF and the hosting schools are accessing the Prizmah Network to accelerate educational innovation as Prizmah provides structure and support for these visits. Learning together and from one another, schools thrive. If you have something to share with the field or want to enhance your peer-to-peer learning, the Prizmah Network is here to support you. |
