What has the impact of the gift been? YB: So far, the Redleaf grant has provided resources for financial need-based assistance to help open the doors of Heilicher to more families and established a tuition grant program for employees of Jewish nonprofit organizations and synagogues in the Twin Cities. The funding has allowed Heilicher to expand its external marketing efforts dramatically. Kindergarten applications are greatly increased this year, in large part, we believe, as a result of enhanced marketing. Have you seen any so-called “ripple effects” from the gift? YB: Receiving a gift of this magnitude has enhanced donor confidence in the school, resulting in increased annual and major gift fundraising. In addition, a portion of the grant also provided a $1 million match incentive to kickstart Heilicher’s endowment campaign this winter and helped fund the staffing and consultancy needed to launch the campaign. In a nutshell, this gift sounds like a game-changer. YB: Due to the Redleaf Affordability & Endowment Building Challenge Grant, we have the greatest opportunity to grow in numbers and to build an endowment to support affordability and other key pillars of the school over the coming years. It is truly incredible. |
